St Joseph of Cluny was selected as one of 48 network schools to explore elements of the new Junior Certificate Exam. Since 2014, the new Junior Cycle now features newly developed subjects and short courses, a focus on literacy, numeracy and key skills, and classroom based assessments. Schools can opt to go for the original key dates or avail of the flexibility offered by the broader timeframe as provided by the NCCA in November 2018. Schools have more freedom to design programmes that meet the learning needs of all students. Priorty Learning Units (PLUs) will be provided for students with special educational needs.
