We hope you all had a wonderful St. Patrick’s Day long weekend and are excited for the weeks to come here at Cluny. We have had another busy week!

On Wednesday, we had a school wide wear blue and yellow day. Donations were made for the purchasing of art therapy materials for the Ukranian community. Thank you to all who took part!

Our TY students are excited to present Grease the Musical this April 5th to 7th (inclusive)! The show will run at 19:00 each evening. Tickets are now on sale and are selling fast! Be sure to book yours soon to avoid disappointment. Tickets cost €15 each. For more information on the show and to buy tickets, please visit our Eventbrite page.

This week was our School Council week here at Cluny. Well done to the student council for organising some lovely events to mark the week including a teachers and sixth years versus first, third and fifth years game of rounders and a school wide walk on Friday afternoon.

The results of the House Reading Challenge are in! Wow! Collectively, we read 84,653 pages and 233 books! The winning house was.... St. Lucia who read a grand total of 23,762 pages as a team! Congratulations to St. Lucia. Well done to all teams who took part.

Last Wednesday, Cluny hosted local primary schools to take part in a hockey blitz. A total of four zones were held around the school grounds. Primary school students took part in lots of different hockey themed games including indoor hockey, skill zone and keeper skills.

Congratulations to our second-year basketball team who beat Woodlands Academy in a quarter-final thriller 24-22! Next, the team will play against Teresians in the semi-final. Top scorer overall Mia McEntee with 21 points. Well done team. Go, Cluny, go!

On Thursday, science and maths undergraduate students welcomed our TY students to UCD. This on-going collaboration looks at sustainable materials and practices in the home.

A massive thank you to Patrick Cumisky, Krav Maga Self Defence, for his fantastic Mum / Daughter workshop in Cluny this week. It was very enjoyable. Patrick also kindly donated his fee to Ukraine.

We were very lucky to welcome Professor Luke O'Neill to Cluny on Tuesday. Professor O'Neill delivered an insightful and educational talk to our TY students.

First Years were celebrated St Patrick’s Day by learning how to make traditional Irish Soda Bread in culinary arts class.

Fifth years took part in a leadership workshop on Thursday where they learned valuable skills about different kinds of leadership, personalities and working with others.

Well done to students 1Y who completed a SPHE project asking them to choose and research a female role model! Projects included Malala Yousafzai, Marie Curie and Cathy Freeman.

Students from 1W finished their creative writing workshop with Fighting Words this week in the library. Their short story will be published shortly alongside other stories written by schools in the Dun Laoghaire Rathdown area. We are excited to see their finished pieces!

Some lovely origami work done was done last Wednesday at Art Club. This week, students made caricatures. Art club is every Wednesday after school, all are welcome to attend!
