This week we started to celebrate our end of year assemblies. These assemblies are about gratitude for our school community and an opportunity to give thanks to one another for a fantastic year at Cluny.

On Tuesday, we celebrated our first year end of year assembly. Congratulations to Faye who won the Cairdeas award! This is awarded to a student who in the eyes of her peers has made a consistent effort to include every student in her year group.

On Thursday, we celebrated third and second year end of year assemblies. Well done to all involved. Ciara won the Léargeas academic award as nominated by her teachers. In third year, Lucy received the Outstanding Junior Student award. Congratulations to Ciara and Lucy!

This morning, we celebrated the fifth year end of year assembly. We thanked our fifth year students for their hard work over the year and their participation in extracurricular activities including debating, our House system and student council. The winner of the Sr. Dolores Memorial award was Mimi.

We were delighted to welcome Sr. Teresa Rai, head of the Cluny worldwide order, to Cluny on Wednesday. Sr. Teresa lives in Paris and is currently visiting Cluny schools in Ireland. Sr. Teresa spoke to our whole student body during her visit with us. Thank you as well to Sr. Mary who is accompanying Sr. Teresa during her time here.

On Tuesday night, we were delighted to welcome parents and guardians to Cluny for our TY exhibition night. TYs were busy creating colourful displays showcasing the fantastic year they have had. These displays included photos from trips, projects from modules and lots more. Well done to all involved. A massive thank you as well to TY coordinator, Ms. O’Riordan.

Yesterday, students in TY enjoyed a kayaking trip.

Recently, fifth years took part in a qualitative study for ecology where they examined what organisms can be found in grassland areas.

That is all for this week! Next week, we will celebrate our Class of 2023 graduation here at Cluny. We hope you all have a relaxing weekend and will be ready for the week to come!

And remember, at Cluny, we grow and succeed together!
