Friday 09 September 2022

Welcome back to our Good News Friday series! For those new to Good News Friday, every Friday we record the news and events from the week to share directly with you. This includes special events, achievements, news and more from Cluny. We hope you enjoy it!

Welcome back to all our staff and students. We hope you are all excited for the new term and are settling into your new timetable. A massive welcome as well to all of our new students who have joined us this term. Welcome to Cluny.

A massive congratulations to our class of 2022 who received their leaving certificate results last week. We are so proud of every one of you. All here at Cluny would like to wish you all the best in your future endeavours and careers. Our students achieved fantastic results with 16% receiving 625 points, 51% receiving 500+, 19% receiving 400+ and 14% receiving 300+. We are extremely proud of each and every one of our class of 2022.

We celebrated Mass yesterday to mark the beginning of the school year. We would like to thank Fr. Peter McVerry for his wonderful sermon and for talking to our sixth-year students about the work of the Peter McVerry Trust. Congratulations to our chaplaincy team for organising this wonderful morning of prayer and well done to our choir who performed beautifully.

The library is now accepting applications from transition year students who would like to be part of this year’s TY library committee. Call into the library for a copy of the application form. Deadline for applications is Friday the 16th of September.

Board games club started back at the library on Tuesday. We were delighted to see so many tables full with students playing jenga, cards, chess and lots more! Board game clubs will take place every Tuesday and Wednesday at lunchtime. All are welcome.

We hope you all have a restful weekend and are excited for the week to come. And remember, here at Cluny we strive, we believe, we become.
