Thursday, the 5th of March is World Book Day, a charity that is funded by publishers and booksellers in Ireland and the UK.

The TY Library Committee will start the celebrations first thing Thursday morning by visiting Year Assemblies to give all students book tokens. These tokens can be used to get (a) a World Book Day Book for free, or (b) €1.50 off a book or audiobook at your local bookstore.

Then we will be having a D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything and Read) event in the afternoon. At 2:10pm, every person in the school (students, staff, visitors, etc.) will drop everything that they are doing and read for 15 minutes. So, all members of the Cluny community, should bring with them to school Thursday a book that they are reading for pleasure or would like to read but haven’t gotten around to yet. If you forget to bring in your book Thursday or are not at the moment reading a book for pleasure, come up to the Library at Break or Lunchtime and borrow one of our many fantastic books!
