Bored at Home?  Be Creative!!

Yesterday, the renowned Irish author John Boyne (The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas; A History of Loneliness; The Heart’s Invisible Furies, etc., etc.) announced that he is running a Short Story Competition. Prizes will be awarded for short stories written by children and teenagers living in Ireland in the following age categories: 6 -10 year olds; 11-14 year olds; 15-18 year olds.

In each category, an overall winner will be selected by a panel of six Irish authors, and awarded a €200 National Book Token. Five other authors (in each age category) will receive €100 book tokens and ten short story contributors will win €50 tokens.

Your short story cannot exceed the word limit of 300 words! Keeping to 300 words only can be difficult but who better than Cluny students to rise to the challenge!! So get writing and submit your brilliant stories in a Word document or pdf by email to by Wednesday 25th March (no later than 5pm).
