The St. Joseph of Cluny Order is deeply committed to its apostolic mission worldwide and to the development of the education of its schools globally. The foundress of the Order Blessed Ann-Marie Javouhey was committed to providing children in developing countries with a basic education but was also determined to develop the hidden talents of young people and to promote the development of the whole person in all its dimensions, as part of her educational vision

The students in the secondary school in Killiney are committed to maintaining this important link with the world of the Cluny educational missions through the School Mission Houses. Students made annual contact with the Sisters in the schools in their chosen Mission Houses and select small fundraising projects which could be of assistance to the development of the schools there.

The girls decide on a fundraising target each year and headed up by the Sixth Year House Captain and Fifth Year Officers, select some fundraising events to allow them to make their contribution to the work of the Order in their mission area.

The girls in turn often receive photos and letters  sent by the schools and sisters around the world to let them know how the money is being spent.
